{tutorial} lil’ witches hats

Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do…things just don’t go as planned! I have been trying to write this tutorial from our “A Lil’ Witches Halloween” all week, but our internet router decided to throw a hissy fit. Just getting to my email has been like climbing Mount Everest. The great thing is this tutorial is so quick and easy….it’s never too late to make these lil’ treats! I made an entire batch in 15 minutes or less while doing a photo shoot.

Gather your supplies:

  • Oreo Fudge Cremes
  • Dark Chocolate Hershey’s Kisses
  • 1/4 Cup of Chocolate Chips
  • Sprinkles
  • Wax or Parchment Paper (optional)
  • Large Plate or Bowl
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Spoon
  • Ramekin or Small Bowl

1. Unwrap enough Kisses to top all of your cookies.

2. Lay a piece of wax paper over the plate or bowl and lay another piece over the cookie sheet.

3. Pour chocolate chips into a ramekin or small bowl and melt them in the microwave. I heat them for 30 seconds, stir and heat for 15 seconds. Stir and repeat until melted.

4. Using the spoon drop a small amount of chocolate onto the bottom of a kiss.

5. Attach the kiss to the cookie and allow a small amount of chocolate to ooze out.

6. Pour sprinkles on the oozed chocolate. Remove any excess sprinkles with your fingers.

Designer’s Tip: Don’t shake off the sprinkles or the whole Kiss will slide or fall off. {Trust me!}

7. Place the finished cookies on the cookie sheet and put in the freezer for 5 minutes or the fridge for 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

8. To reuse and save your sprinkles, carefully lift up two sides of the wax or parchment paper and pour it back into the container.

Ta-Da! Aren’t they adorable?!?

They’re really YUMMY, too. I have to hide them from J just so I can have a few! I hope you’re inspired to try these whimsical lil’ treats.
