the story behind the box

A new week means it’s…

J and I love watching the bonus features on DVDs. We love knowing the stories behind the movie. What hoops did the filmmakers have to jump through to make the movie? How many re-writes did the script go through? My favorite part of designing products is seeing the end result. I know…you’re thinking, “Duh?!?” Why I do love seeing the end product, I truly love knowing the story behind the product.

The newest favor boxes to hit The Market shelves this week each have their own story. Lydia of The Party Wagon asked us to design a box for the cast party of her daughter’s class play. The play was based on Lewis & Clark’s expedition and the box was inspired by their canoes.

Explorer Canoe Favor Box

Carolyn of Christmas Specialists asked us to design a box for a recent Operation Shower event. The theme was, “Go, Baby, Go” and she wanted a travel themed box to use on the table she designed. The box was inspired by printables designed by Jenn of Hostess with the Mostess.

Go Airplane Favor Box

My greatest challenge to date was when Brittany of GreyGrey Designs asked me to create a shoe favor box for a Daisy Duck themed birthday party you can see here. The hardest part was designing a rounded toe shoe that was easy to assemble. After tweaking and assembling almost 30 prototypes, I finally achieved a shoe the hubs could easily assemble!

High Heel Favor Box

All of our new favor boxes are available in The Market. Don’t forget to LINK up your Spring, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter parties, recipes, crafts and such here.

I hope you’re inspired to find out the story behind some of your favorite things!
