I have a friend who asks me the same question at the end of each party I host, “How did you come up with this idea?” I love to answer this question. I’m inspired by anything and everything. Every party is different. Sometimes I’m inspired by an object, other times by a favorite food and then another time by a phrase.
Our Glow in the Dark Collection was inspired by a phrase on an invitation sent to us by our sweet client, Gaylene. She was planning a Glow in the Dark birthday party for her daughter, Sydney. Gaylene had designed an invitation which she scanned and emailed to us…
We loved the wording and the concept that Gaylene had come up with but she gave us freedom to tweak it a bit when she said, “Please change in any way you think!” Here’s the invitation we designed…
Gaylene loved it which gave us the green light to design the rest of the partyware. Here’s a lil’ party I designed to show off our Glow in the Dark Collection…
The question we’re asked most often about the printable Glow in the Dark Collection, “Do I need special ink to print it?” The answer, “No!” We designed the collection to mimic glowing neon letters so it can be used for parties that take place day or night. If you add a black light to your party space, the collection really does glow…
{sweet client} This is Sydney, Gaylene’s daughter, showing off her Glow in the Dark birthday party décor using a black light. Sydney is a special 10 year old. She requested that her guests bring donations for the local water park instead of gifts!
Our birthday party décor started with a bright green paper plate backdrop. Then I added the Glow in the Dark Banner and coordinating balloon bunches.
A black tablecloth was the foundation for my glowing treat stands. To create them, place five balloon lights under translucent bowls and top them with black premium plastic plates.
Treats included light and dark snack cakes from Little Debbie dressed up with Glow in the Dark Cake Stakes and Party Cards.
The Cake Stakes also include fun lil’ glowing eyes!
The table also included a few more dark and glowing treats…
Water bottles and dark chocolate bars were made extra special with our Glow in the Dark Water Bottle Labels and Candy Bar Wrappers.
Hershey’s Special Dark Miniatures and Dark Chocolate Kisses were perfect treats!
Glow in the Dark Favor Bag Toppers were added to snack size reclosable bags filled with dark and delicious treats!
Flashlights also make great favors and can double as an activity. Tell spooky stories or share slumber party secrets by flashlight. Use them to go on a Glow in the Dark scavenger hunt. Add the Glow in the Dark Thank You Tags to the flashlights with a fun ribbon. Personalize the Glow in the Dark Black or White Party Cards to let your guests know to grab a favor or tell them thanks!
A Glow in the Dark theme is great for boys, girls and tweens any time of day. There are so many fun items available in the glow in the dark section of your local dollar store—bracelets, necklaces, wands or sticks—that can brighten any celebration!
The Glow in the Dark Printable Party Set is currently on sale through October 15th. Individual items in the Glow in the Dark Collection can also be purchased a la carte.
