{inspiration} celebrating a happy harvest

| | | |

The air is crisp. The autumn breeze is blowing. The ever changing leaves are slowly floating to the ground. The harvest season has arrived…finally! It’s my favorite time of year and just thinking about it makes my heart skip a beat. It’s the one time of year when running a quick errand turns into a leisurely drive to soak in the beauty of the season.

Autumn is also my favorite season to decorate the house. One year I may fill the house with  gourds, pumpkins and leaves. The next year I use apples, harvest corn and cranberries. Each year changes like the autumn trees and this year was no different! Introducing…

I designed the Happy Harvest Banner and Cake Stakes last year for our church. It was one of my favorite fall designs so this year I wanted to expand it a bit.

The centerpiece was inspired by these adorable trees I saw last year as well as the banner colors and patterns.

These Happy Trees create a colorful lil’ forest.

I love that you can use this collection for a fall dinner, harvest celebration or the Thanksgiving holiday. Each placesetting was layered with a burgundy napkin for a lil’ pop of color, an inexpensive bamboo plate used as a charger, a green plastic plate from our picnic set and an ivory salad plate. They were all topped off with a brown cloth napkin and twig napkin ring embellished with a Happy Harvest Cake Stake.

The placesettings were completed with placecards I made using the “Create-Your-Own Text” Party Cards and glass drinking jars topped with Happy Harvest Paper and brown gingham ribbon.

Another idea is to tuck a menu under the napkin. It’s a simple touch that makes a simple dinner feel extra special.

I set up a simple lil’ buffet on the side using bamboo plates as platters and wooden boxes to elevate the servingware. The galvanized drink dispensers were my latest bargain. They were a Halloween item on clearance for $6.00 each! {Originally $24.99 each…break for a Happy Dance!} The buffet was finished off with Happy Trees, Party Card food labels and mosaic candleholders from our autumn wedding.

A colorful way to celebrate autumn and enjoy the bounty of the harvest season.

The Happy Harvest Collection is now available in The Market for $12.00.

I hope you’re inspired to celebrate the season with those who are near and dear to you!
